Alison Xamon – Greens Member

Member of Parliament for the Greens

Alison Xamon is a Greens member who is the current leader of the North Metropolitan Region and has been since being re-elected in May 2017.  

Alison has worked as an advocate for mental health and suicide prevention. She was elected as the President of the WA Association for Mental Health, the Vice-Chair of Community Mental Health Australia and the Board of Mental Health Australia.

Previous to her appointment into parliament Alison has studied law and arts at Murdoch University and worked in union movements for various white and blue collar unions.  

She went on to work as a lawyer and sat on numerous boards within the community law and social justice sectors.

My favourite word would be Love!

My least favourite word is can’t

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Being with my kids and my family

What turns you off?

People who lie

What sound or noise do you love?

I love the sound of dogs and babies laughing

What sound or noise do you hate?

I hate the sound of my phone ringing and I hate the neighbors alarm

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I would love to be involved with advocacy around justice
