Oceanique – Sisters From Perth

by | Nov 16, 2020 | Local Music, Music, New Australian Music | 0 comments

and Jess and Maddie Larkman are twin sisters who make up the duo Oceanique.

Originally from Walpole in Western Australia’s south, they credit the country life for helping them find their unique sound.

Their indie/folk style is reminiscent of music from artists like Missy Higgins and the Waifs – both who have been influential in the girls finding their sound.

With Maddy on guitar and Jess on the keys. These girls blend their heavenly harmonies together in a way that only twins who begin and end each others sentances can.

They claim that during Covid, they really found their sound as they were ‘forced’ into a time of bonding and writing.

They both write with one finishing after the other starts more often than not. They took their name from a suggestion made by their mum and the store that Mum used to run.

They have a new single out called Drift and will be bringing out an album next year.

Each and every week we ask our guests the same 9 questions to delve into what makes them tick.
