Prevent, Support,Heal – Mental Advocacy with Taryn Harvey

When we were all set up to talk to our special guest we were so excited on many fronts – Taryn Harvey is the CEO of WAAMH and the spokesperson for Prevent, Support Heal and she is passionate about the advocacy of mental health and wellbeing.


When she was on radio – her favourite form of being interviewed by the way – you could just feel how the passion flowed from this amazing woman. Listen below to hear our interview with Taryn.

She was also a member of the Partnership Forum and the WA Reference Group for the NDIS.

She previously worked for Development Disability WA. She has been involved with legislative reform and service reform also.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Being around people – I’m an extrovert!

What turns you off?

Negativity… and bean juice… you will need to listen to the interview to understand lol

What sound or noise do you love?

One of my favourite sound is the sound of a cork popping out of a bottle

What sound or noise do you hate?

The sound of nails on a chalkboard

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I would have really enjoyed being in parliament

What profession would you not like to do?

Im not technically minded so a Sparkie or a Mechanic

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

That there is going to be good food, good company and that I can still wear my favourite frocks!
